Gary Haven Smith

Gary Haven Smith, who works with found stone from
his native New Hampshire, is challenged by the massive,
naturally occurring forms found near his home. Through
the need to create certain unique forms, Smith has
developed mechanical systems to slice through stone,
creating elegant and subtle manipulations that deny
the inherent qualities we associate with granite.
